President Joe Biden on Thursday said the nine-year sentence handed down to WNBA star Brittney Griner by a Russian court for drug smuggling is “unacceptable.”
“Today, American citizen Brittney Griner received a prison sentence that is one more reminder of what the world already knew: Russia is wrongfully detaining Brittney. It’s unacceptable, and I call on Russia to release her immediately so she can be with her wife, loved ones, friends, and teammates,” Biden said in a statement.
Well while alot of people feel the 9 year’s sentence is too harsh .. we perceive an exclusive (cnn) coming up as Russia calls for a second prisoner in swap for Britany Griner between both countries….Will the united states accept this offer?
The Russians have already made an offer requesting the release of 2 prisoners,one of which committed murder in broad daylight and the other one an Arms dealer who is actually in the custody of the Germans ….Now the Us will have to use their influence if any, to release the said prisoner together with the first one in exchange for their Basketball star….mmmm this offer is in all aspect very controversial and very impossible to achieve one might think….
