Nigerian afrobeat singer, Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has decried the extravagant spending of an English Premier League side, Chelsea, in this season’s transfer market.
The Blues have splashed a total of €323 million on transfers so far during the 2023 summer window.
In their latest acquisition of Moises Caicedo, a new signing who arrived from Brighton, the London-based Club spent a whopping €116m (£100m), likely to reach €133m (£115m) via achievable add-ons, making it a British transfer record.
Reacting via his X Page (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Adekunle Gold, who is a die-hard fan of Chelsea’s Premier League rival club, Manchester United, said Chelsea was ruining the sport with their outrageous spending.
He wrote, “Man! Chelsea ruined the market this season! Where do you see money?”
