Adebola Akin-Bright, a 12-year-old boy whose intestine went missing while hospitalized at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), has sadly passed on.
The mother of the deceased, Mrs. Abiodun Deborah, confirmed the tragic news of his demise while speaking with Vanguard in a phone conversation.
It would be recalled that Adebola made headlines when his mother raised concerns about her son’s missing small intestine, alleging that it was harvested during his treatment at LASUTH.
The hospital management was forced to refute the claims, releasing a statement on August 12, 2023, to deny the allegations.
The controversies that surrounded Adebola’s missing intestine prompted Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos to visit him at the hospital, during which he promised to cover all the medical expenses and care for the young boy.
Also, the Lagos State House of Assembly had assured that anyone found culpable in the case of Adebola Akin-Bright’s missing intestine would be prosecuted accordingly.
