Legendary Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has apologized to his colleague in the comedy industry, Ayo Makun, AY, which could bring an end to the feud between them that has lasted for 17 years.
There has been no love lost between the two comedians, who have not been on speaking terms over a debt of N30,000 AY claimed Bassketmouth owes him.
It would be recalled that during an interview with popular media personality Chude Jideonwo in March 2023, AY claimed that earlier in his career, Basketmouth had invited him to take his place at a comedy show.
After the show, AY alleged that Basketmouth refused to pay him the N30,000 fee for the performance, even though the show’s organizers had made the payment to the latter even before the event.
On his part, Basketmouth accused AY of betrayal and swore never to talk to him or respond to the allegation.
“To be honest, I don’t want that guy to ever hear from you,” he said in the viral video.
However, in a twist of events, Basketmouth has taken a U-turn to apologize to Makun for any wrongdoings.
In a video shared via his Instagram page on Monday, the comedian said he was genuinely sorry for any hurt he has caused to anyone in the industry.
“To my guy AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now, but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have done or said in the past that affected you in any way, and I want you to know that I have forgiven you for whatever you said or did, knowingly or unknowingly. I just want peace and harmony”, he said.
