Ahead of the governorship election in Kogi State, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADC), Leke Abejide, has wooed traditional rulers in the state with the scintillating offer of merrymaking, promising that the monarchs will enjoy themselves in luxurious hotels if he is elected as governor.
Abejide, who is a former lawmaker, could be heard in a video that has gone viral on social media telling the traditional rulers they will be treated to the best of hospitality in the most luxurious hostels anytime they are invited to the government house.
“I will respect my traditional rulers; I will give you the due respect that is needed. I will make sure that anytime I invite you, I’ll put you in the best hotels for you to enjoy yourself. I will not look down on you and put you inside the sun,” he said while meeting with the traditional rulers.
The governorship election in Kogi State is part of the off-circle elections slated to be held on November 11 that will also take place in Imo and Bayelsa.
