A 14-year-old prodigy, Heman Bekele, in a stunning display of youthful brilliance and innovation, has formulated a unique soap for the treatment of melanoma, better known as skin cancer.
Bekele’s invention has earned him the prestigious US Young Scientist Award for this groundbreaking achievement.
The promising young scientist won $25,000 in 3M’s Young Scientist Challenge, beating the other nine contestants and capturing the nation’s attention with his extraordinary invention, which offers a new ray of hope in the fight against cancer.
The revolutionary soap is designed to assist cancer patients undergoing various treatments.
It will address the challenges often faced by patients, such as skin sensitivity, infections, and general discomfort resulting from chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Bekele said he looks forward to getting the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval on his product and introducing the product to the market at an affordable price for a disease that kills 8,000 Americans a year.
