Ilebaye Odiniya, the winner of the Big Brother Naija All-Stars reality show, recently revealed in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo that she remains a virgin.
She attributed her commitment to virginity to her upbringing by a strict and disciplined father.
Ilebaye’s father, an Abuja-based politician and former Physical Health Education (PHE) teacher at Government Secondary School Alloma Ofu in Kogi State, played a significant role in shaping her values.
The 22-year-old acknowledged that she was unaware that the revelation about her virginity had become a topic of discussion on social media.
When asked about what was hindering her from pursuing a romantic relationship, Ilebaye responded, “My dad is strict, but I don’t know.”
Regarding her single status and virginity, she downplayed the significance, stating, “There is nothing serious about it.”
She expressed her confusion about how her virginity had become a trending topic on social media, saying, “I don’t know. I’m not very active on social media, so things may have been happening without my knowledge.”
Ilebaye, a Criminology graduate from Salem University, Lokoja, elaborated on her decision to remain single, saying, “I believe I’m not mentally prepared for a serious relationship at the moment. I’ve had some interactions before, but it was more of a guiding experience.”
She emphasized her current focus on self-improvement and personal development, relegating romantic relationships to a lower priority in her life.
