President Bola Tinubu has given his nod to the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Abba Isa as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability Matters, a significant development that will awestruck People With Disabilities (PWD).

According to a statement from Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, this appointment underscores Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive representation within the framework of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The statement highlights Mr. Mohammed Abba Isa’s distinguished track record as a passionate advocate for persons with disabilities, bringing over a decade of experience in both local and international disability advocacy.

A graduate with honours in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri, Mr. Isa further solidified his academic credentials by earning a Masters in Public Administration from the same institution in 2017.

The President has charged the newly appointed aide with the proactive task of fostering inclusivity.

This involves embedding the requirements and perspectives of Persons With Disabilities (PWD) in the policies and programs of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government.

Mr. Isa is expected to collaborate closely with sub-national authorities to establish a national consensus on PWD-friendly policies and environmental conditions, working in tandem with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
