Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, the House of Representatives member representing the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, has pledged to collaborate with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, to foster development in his constituency.
He assured constituents of his commitment to working in tandem with Senator Kalu, regardless of political affiliations.
MUK TV reports that Osonwa made this commitment following an open and interactive town hall meeting held in Ebem Ohafia on Saturday.
During the interactive session, he highlighted his legislative efforts aimed at the constituency’s progress.
In his post-town hall remarks, the federal lawmaker emphasized the unity among members of the National Assembly representing Abia North, noting that party distinctions will not hinder their collective cooperation.
He commended Senator Kalu’s dedication to serving the people, acknowledging his people-centric approach to representation.
Osonwa expressed his readiness to seek Senator Kalu’s support when necessary, recognizing Kalu’s extensive legislative knowledge and experience in attracting constituency projects.
“I have the utmost respect for the Senator representing Abia North Sen, Orji Uzor Kalu. He knows more than I do. All of us in Abia North work in unity. We have a senator who is our own. If there is anything we need, we consult him. So, when I cry to my Senator, if I need his support, I will go to him,” he stated confidently.
It is worth noting that while Hon. Ibe Osonwa was elected on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Senator Orji Uzor Kalu was conversely elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
