During the ongoing annual Holy Ghost Congress of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Ogun State, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer, openly disclosed an unconventional desire concerning his eventual passing.
MUK TV reports that Abeboye’s revelation sent the congregation into a sober mood, with many thinking the death of the octogenarian could near.
The renowned cleric, sharing a personal anecdote, expressed his aspiration to depart from this world in a manner reminiscent of his uncle’s peaceful passing.
Adeboye recounted a poignant incident involving his uncle during a Thanksgiving Sunday. His uncle, having partaken in the church’s joyful celebration, enjoyed a light breakfast and was eagerly anticipating a meal of pounded yam prepared by his wife.
Describing the unexpected turn of events, Adeboye narrated, “She was already pounding the yam when my uncle decided to go to the toilet. After she finished pounding, she knocked at the door of the toilet. When they opened the door, my uncle was gone; no sickness, no ache, no pain.”
In reflecting on mortality, Adeboye expressed, “If the Lord tarries His coming, that is how I will go. I will go on a Sunday after a good meal of pounded yam.”
His desire for a serene departure without illness or discomfort resonated in his account, offering a glimpse into his personal aspirations for the end of his earthly journey.
