President Bola Tinubu has expressed his appreciation to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for his commendable statesmanship during the recent turmoil in the state.
In a meeting at his Lagos residence, Tinubu praised Governor Fubara’s dedication to peacefully addressing the political upheavals within the state.
He acknowledged Fubara’s emphasis on peace, highlighting its pivotal role in facilitating effective governance, which he stated had commenced earnestly under his administration.
“I thank you for your statesmanship. I listened to your broadcast and your emphasis on peace. It is only with peace that effective governance can thrive, and governance has commenced in earnest under my watch,” Tinubu conveyed to Fubara during the meeting with a delegation from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) on Tuesday, as reported by Channels TV.
Governor Fubara had reiterated his commitment to implementing the eight-point presidential peace agreement addressing the political crisis in the state during his Christmas Broadcast.
He assured the public that the implementation of the agreement would prioritize the collective interests of the people and uphold democratic values.
