Reports indicate that a joint security team successfully eliminated six kidnappers at Tukuba Forest within the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A member of the joint security team, speaking on condition of anonymity to Daily Trust, detailed that the operation spanned between Saturday and Monday within the specified area. The team, consisting of army personnel, anti-kidnap police units, vigilantes, and intelligence operatives, conducted a targeted raid on the kidnappers’ hideouts.
“In fact, it was a huge success as the joint security team positioned themselves at strategic palaces before raiding their hideouts. And as God will have it, six among them met their waterloo,” he said.
The operation, lasting over 25 minutes and involving an intense exchange of fire, led to the successful neutralization of six kidnappers.
The joint security team strategically positioned themselves before the raid, achieving a substantial victory in subduing the criminals.
During the operation, various items including food supplies, sleeping mats, leather, and clothing found at the kidnappers’ hideout were set ablaze, disrupting their activities.
Efforts to reach the FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Adeh Josephine, for confirmation on the incident remained unanswered at the time of filing this report.
It’s important to note the prolonged reign of terror by bandits in rural communities within the Kuje Area Council.
Recently, eight women, including the wife of a local chief, were abducted by these bandits, who later secured their release after receiving N11 million in ransom, food supplies, and other items.
