Former President Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has been thrown into mourning as his elder sister, Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, has passed away at the age of seventy.
She breathed her last on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, succumbing to a brief illness
Known affectionately as Amissi, the deceased was a retired teacher, businesswoman, and a pillar of love as a devoted mother and grandmother.
Her life was marked by dedicated service to God and humanity, leaving an indelible legacy as a devout Christian and a virtuous role model.
The statement from Jonathan’s media office revealed that the burial is scheduled for Tuesday, February 16, 2024.
Details of the funeral rites will be announced by the family, highlighting the deep loss felt by Madam Obebhatein Jonathan’s three children, siblings, including Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and her mother, Mama Eunice Afeni-Jonathan.
