The kidnappers who seized 10 residents from Sagwari Estate Layout in Dutse, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, on January 7, 2024, in an escalation of terror,  have mercilessly killed two more hostages.

The callous move serves as a grim warning to relatives negotiating the ransom, as the abductors increased their demand from the initial N60 million per person to a staggering N100 million, now amassing to a horrifying N700 million.

Residents said the victims were allegedly killed over the delay in raising the ransom demanded by the kidnappers, as reported by Leadership .

Among those killed is Folorunsho Ariyo, a 13-year-old secondary school student, whose life was cut short in this wave of terror.

This grim development follows earlier reports that the kidnappers, also operating in Bwari villages, had already killed Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, one of the abducted individuals, to force the family into swift compliance with the ransom demands.

Recall that former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Ali Pantami, stepped in to announce the mobilization of a balance of N50 million ransom for the Al-Kadriyar family, aiming to secure the release of their remaining five daughters following Nabeeha’s tragic demise.

In response to the perceived inaction of the government and security agencies, residents of Sagwari Layout are gearing up for a massive protest against the ongoing nightmare.

Originally planned for Monday, the protest has been rescheduled to Tuesday due to the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
