Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has taken decisive action, dissolving his entire cabinet merely 24 hours after his inauguration for a second term.

This move, which comes right after his overwhelming re-election in November, saw the dismissal of all commissioners and political appointees, including the Secretary to the State Government, Senior Special Assistants, Special Advisers, the Chief of Staff, and the Chief Press Secretary.

Governor Uzodimma expressed gratitude to the outgoing appointees for their contributions during his first term, emphasizing the necessity of this dissolution to revamp the administration for optimal performance and a fresh direction.

He is set to nominate a new list of commissioner candidates, subject to screening and confirmation by the state House of Assembly.

The governor’s swearing-in ceremony for his second term took place at the Dan Ayiam Stadium in Owerri on Monday.

Notable political figures, including President Bola Tinubu, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and other All Progressives Congress chieftains and state governors graced the event.
