Three labourers faced a tragic fate on Sunday, in what was a heart wrenching-incident, as a landslide struck the village of Unguwan Ayaba in Keffi, Nasarawa State.

Engaged in the strenuous task of digging and loading red soil onto a waiting lorry, the workers found themselves under a sudden collapse from a cliff, burying four of them.

Miraculously, one worker escaped with injuries, while the fate of the remaining three hangs in the balance.

Rescue efforts led by volunteers, including family members and local authorities, have been ongoing since the incident occurred.

Despite their relentless digging for over two hours, the bodies of the three laborers remain unrecovered as of this report.

Saliu Abdullahi, a dedicated volunteer at the site, vowed not to leave until the bodies are found, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

Aminu Sunusi, vice chairman of the Tipper Owners Association in Keffi LGA, revealed plans to bring in an excavator to expedite the rescue operation.

Acknowledging the delicate nature of the site, Sunusi emphasized the need for decisive action to prevent future tragedies.
