Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has swore in nine re-nominated commissioners on Friday, marking a pivotal victory for his predecessor, Nyesome Wike.

The nine commissioners, eight of whom previously served in the immediate past cabinet led by Wike, had resigned during the political turmoil that gripped the state in the latter part of the previous year, as reported by Channels TV.

The swearing-in ceremony unfolded at the state Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt, where all nine commissioners simultaneously took the oaths, commencing with the oath of allegiance followed by the oath of office.

Notably, one of the commissioners, Gift Worlu, who was not part of Wike’s administration, hails from Obio/Akpor, the same local government area as the FCT Minister.

Governor Fubara, addressing the re-sworn commissioners, extended congratulations and urged them to prioritize the welfare of the state.

He stated, “I don’t think I have any charge for you. You have already read your charge to uphold the Constitution of the fed republic of Nigeria. I urge you to do the right thing. I can see how heavy your hearts are. I don’t blame you. You were caught between the crossfire,” stated Fubara.
