As the trial of Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar continues, a witness has disclosed a disturbing finding, revealing that 16 nude videos were uncovered on Ndifon’s phone, amid allegations of sexual harassment involving female students.
The trial, centered on charges of sexual harassment and gratification against Ndifon, also involves his lawyer, Sunny Anyanwu, who is accused of influencing a witness to evade an invitation from the ICPC.
Bwaigu Fungo, a forensic and intelligence analyst with the ICPC, revealed that Ndifon forwarded the videos, originally sent by a witness identified as TKJ, to another number.
Among the extracted videos, only three were attributed to TKJ, a Diploma of Law graduate whose identity remains protected by the court.
TKJ’s testimony detailed disturbing allegations, including Ndifon’s demand for sexual favors in exchange for academic opportunities, and an incident where she alleges he coerced her into performing oral sex.
During the trial’s recent session, Fungo disclosed that the forwarded videos were part of a total of 16 nude videos extracted from Ndifon’s phone, shedding light on the extent of the evidence.
The Punch quoted him to have said, “We observed that the videos received were forwarded to another subscriber. What I mean is that the nude videos sent by TKJ to the professor were sent to another number. That number ends with 617. There was also a video sent by TKJ and another phone was used to record the video while being played on the phone.
“A total of 16 nude videos were extracted from his phone among which TKJ sent three.”
Under cross-examination, Fungo affirmed that the analysis indicated the videos were not sent voluntarily, adding weight to TKJ’s claims.
As the defense sought an adjournment for further cross-examination and requested medical attention for Ndifon, the trial was adjourned to February 14, under the directive of Justice James Omotoso.
