Following extensive discussions held in private, the Federal Government and cement manufacturers have come to an agreement aimed at addressing the surging cost of cement.
During the meeting, which lasted several hours, manufacturers tentatively committed to selling a 50kg bag of cement at a retail price ranging from N7,000 to N8,000 across the nation.
However, this price adjustment hinges on the fulfillment of specific government interventions aimed at alleviating critical industry challenges, as emphasized by the manufacturers.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, revealed these developments after the meeting concluded in Abuja on Monday.
