Afrobeats sensation, Davido, has announced a generous pledge of N300 million to support orphanages nationwide, continuing his tradition of giving back to the community.
In a statement shared on his social media platforms on Tuesday, February 20, Davido reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the nation’s welfare, a practice he has upheld for several years.
The donation coincides with a period of economic challenges in Nigeria, with citizens facing increased food and petrol prices.
This is not the first time Davido has shown philanthropic generosity; in the previous year, he distributed N237 million to various orphanages, while in October 2022, he donated N250 million to 292 orphanages.
The funds will be channeled through The David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), the artist’s charitable organization.
“I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the nation,” Davido announced, promising to provide details of the disbursement soon.
