Amid social media backlash over his perceived support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, comedian Seyi Law has vehemently denied ever urging people to vote for the politician.
Speaking on ‘The Honest Bunch’ with Nedu Wazobia, Seyi Law clarified that while he openly declared Tinubu as his preferred candidate during the 2023 general election, he never explicitly encouraged others to follow suit.
Emphasizing that he merely expressed his personal preference based on Tinubu’s track record in Lagos, the comedian expressed frustration over continuous criticism amidst the country’s economic challenges.
He reiterated that he was just one voter among millions who made their own choices independently.
“I never said ‘vote for Tinubu’. Go and check. I write the things that I know he did in Lagos, and I will put ‘Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my candidate or is who I am voting for.’ I didn’t tell you to vote for him. And again, Seyi Law did not make the 8.9 million that voted for him. I am just a number among those numbers,” he said.
