The Katsina State Government has shelled out a whopping N50 million to overhaul fifteen police vehicles, a development that has stirred waves of commendation and skepticism.

According to reports from Channels TV, the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Deputy Governor’s Office, Mukhtar Aliyu Saulawa, presided over a brief handover ceremony at the Katsina State Government House Banquet Hall, where the refurbished vehicles were officially handed over to the state police command.

Saulawa attributed the generous allocation to the state Governor, Dikko Radda, emphasizing the urgent need to fortify law enforcement capabilities amidst escalating security challenges.

He disclosed that the intervention came in response to a direct appeal from the State Police Command, underscoring the collaborative effort to address pressing concerns.

In a bid to support local talent and empower youth, Saulawa revealed that local mechanics and panel beaters were enlisted for the repair work, tapping into the expertise of students from the Katsina Youth Craft Village.

“We invited mechanics and panel beaters locally and repaired the vehicles in order to encourage our local talents mostly students drawn from the Katsina Youth Craft Village,” he noted.

Gratitude echoed from the ranks of the police force as Ibrahim Sa’ad, the DC Operations of the Katsina State Police Command, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the governor’s proactive stance.

Sa’ad assured that the rejuvenated fleet would be deployed effectively to combat crime and safeguard communities, pledging unwavering maintenance and utilization.
