The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has intensified its efforts in combating violent crimes across the country by declaring 97 individuals wanted, including terrorists, insurgents, and other perpetrators of heinous acts.
Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed the announcement, revealing the names and images of the wanted persons to the press on Friday.
Unlike previous declarations with bounties attached, this operation focuses solely on locating and apprehending the suspects without offering financial incentives.
In the North West Zone, heavily affected by banditry, 43 individuals were listed, including Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, and Bello Turji, among others.
For the North East region plagued by Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorism, 33 individuals were identified, including Abu Zaida, Modu Sulum, and Umar Tella.
21 insurgents and violent criminals are wanted in the South-East and North Central areas, among them Simon Ekpa, Chika Edoziem, and High Chief Williams Agbor.
This nationwide crackdown underscores the DHQ’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, urging the public to assist in providing relevant information for the arrest of these wanted individuals.
