Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, delivered a daring message, cautioning against misjudging his adherence to Presidential directives as a sign of weakness, and stressing his resolve to surprise doubters.

Addressing members of the Rivers State Local Government Workers at Government House Gate, Fubara clarified that his implementation of the Presidential resolution stems from respect for the President, not vulnerability.

Acknowledging the non-constitutional nature of the resolution, Fubara underscored its political significance in resolving past state crises.

“But let me say it here, if that action that I have accepted to follow will be taken for my weakness I will surprise them,” Fubara vowed with all sense of audacity.

Assuring workers of immediate promotion implementation, gratuity payments, and consolidated salary for grade level 17, Fubara pledged collaboration with the Accountant General for seamless transactions.

He praised the workers’ solidarity visit, attributing it to his administration’s genuine policies and impact on citizens’ lives, dismissing claims of being politically influenced.

Fubara emphasized governance driven by reason, not emotion, highlighting his commitment to alleviate hardships and ensure worker welfare.

Urging workers to uphold the law, the Governor reiterated his support for their advancement, promising leadership guided by divine principles and empathy for citizens’ concerns.

In further endorsements, NULGE representatives lauded Fubara’s worker-friendly policies, urging continued support for local government workers’ welfare amid ongoing wage negotiations.

The Governor’s dedication to worker welfare and governance marked by genuine concern for citizens’ well-being earns praise from labor leaders, reflecting a broader sentiment of appreciation and support within Rivers State.
