Nigerian woman on solo road trip from UK arrives Nigeria
A United Kingdom based Nigerian that embarked on a solo road trip from London, at the Nigeria/Benin Republic border at Seme, Badagry. Nubi, who crossed into Nigeria from Benin Republic through the Seme border in Lagos State at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, was received by top Lagos State Government officials led by the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, and the Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe. Pelumi Nubi, a travel content creator, began her solo trip from London, the United Kingdom, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 and arrived in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
Pelumi’s Parent were also present to receive this female hero being celebrated by the whole world. He said they are strong believers in God and he kept their daughter safe, Pelumi’s mum was against the trip when she heard it the first time, she was against it but after much persuasion she agreed to it also confirming their daughter has travelled up to 80 countries hence she wasn’t that afraid anymore, Despite being excited to receive their daughter in Lagos, Her Father said it was “two months of anxiety” regarding her safety.
Also present at the arrival ceremony held in her honour was Mr Newton who has done same trip 56 years ago 4 times!! He encouraged young people to explore, he said “i would have wanted to do this trip again but age won’t permit me”.I am passing the baton to Pelumi to please continue in exploring the world.
