Three individuals tragically lost their lives after reportedly consuming expired drugs in Kaduna’s Kabala Doki community.
Two other youths are currently hospitalized, sparking concerns over the safety of medical supplies obtained from vehicles auctioned by customs.
The victims, identified as Abdulsalam Lawal, Muhammed Auwal Abubakar, and Ibrahim Kabiru, fell victim to the fatal consequences of ingesting expired medication, intending to use them during the Eid celebration, as reported by Daily Trust.
According to the ward head of Kabala Doki, Danlami Bawa, the youths were unaware of the drugs’ expiration, highlighting a grave oversight that led to this unfortunate incident.
While the Customs Area Command of Kabala Doki clarified their role in auctioning vehicles, they disavowed any knowledge of how the youths acquired the expired drugs, leaving unanswered questions about their source and safety.
Confirming the incident, the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansur Hassan, assured ongoing investigations to uncover the cause of the youths’ untimely deaths, underscoring the urgency to address this alarming situation.
