Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, in a sensational courtroom revelation, has declared himself a man just moments before receiving a six-month prison sentence.
The dramatic declaration happened on Friday when Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos questioned the popular crossdresser about his sex, to which Bobrisky emphatically responded, “I am a man, My Lord.”
Bobrisky, who has frequently sparked debates over his gender identity by dressing as a woman and discussing undergoing surgeries to change his gender, even once expressed a desire to bear a child.
MUK TV reports that shortly before he was arrested by the anti-graft agency, the self-proclaimed ‘mother of Lagos’ was awarded the best female in a promotional event, a development that caused uproar on social media and snowballed to an online war between him and Afrobeat singer, Portable.
Earlier, unconfirmed reports circulated on social media that he was reportedly growing mustache in the EFCC custody
However, his latest courtroom declaration has once again ignited public curiosity and debate.
The sentencing, which took effect on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest, came after Bobrisky pleaded guilty on April 5, 2024, to charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was accused of abusing the Nigerian naira currency, a serious offense under local law.
