Kenyan authorities are swiftly moving to extradite fugitive Binance executive Nadeem Anjarwalla back to Nigeria after his arrest, as revealed by sources familiar with the matter.
Anjarwalla, who escaped from lawful custody in Nigeria in March, was apprehended in Kenya by a joint task force involving INTERPOL, the EFCC, the FBI, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenya Police Service, The Punch reported.
Government insiders, speaking anonymously, disclosed that Anjarwalla is currently in detention in Kenya and is expected to be extradited to Nigeria within the week.
The extradition process was initiated following the approval of an extradition request by INTERPOL Nigeria, in collaboration with the EFCC.
A government source stated, “Binance executive Nadeem Anjarwalla has been arrested by the Kenya Police Service, and he would be extradited to Nigeria this week by INTERPOL.”
Another source affirmed, “Anjarwalla has been arrested in Kenya, and he’ll be extradited to Nigeria this week.”
Anjarwalla’s whereabouts in Kenya were uncovered after extensive efforts by Nigerian authorities, leading to intensified discussions between Nigerian and Kenyan law enforcement agencies to facilitate his extradition.
Reports indicate that Anjarwalla went into hiding upon his arrival in Kenya, but his cover has now been exposed, paving the way for his swift return to Nigeria to face justice.
