Reports have emerged from Nza Ozubulu, Anambra State, revealing the gruesome torture and subsequent death of a 60-year-old man known only as Mr. Kenneth.

Allegedly, he was tortured by operatives of local vigilantes at the behest of his younger brother.

Activist Harrison Gwamnishu shared a distressing video on X, depicting the elderly man’s hands tied behind him as he was brutally beaten with cutlass and sticks by his assailants.

According to Gwamnishu, Mr. Kenneth had sold a water tank in his family home to resolve familial issues. Displeased with his actions, his younger brother enlisted the help of local vigilantes, leading to Mr. Kenneth’s arrest and hours of torture until his demise.

In the harrowing video, Mr. Kenneth’s cries of agony echoed as his tormentors continued their assault, accusing him of theft and claiming the water tank as communal property.

Amidst the tragedy, Gwamnishu highlighted the plight of Mr. Kenneth’s wife and children, who face fear and intimidation from the perpetrators, threatening further harm if they seek justice.

Calling for justice, the activist urged the community of Nza Ozubulu, Anambra State, to confront the case and protect the deceased’s family from further harm.

In response, Anambra state’s Police PRO, Tochukwu Ikenga, expressed unawareness of the incident when approached by SaharaReporters, urging the victim’s relatives to provide information for investigation.
