Amidst the chaos surrounding a fatal shooting incident at a petrol station in Lagos, the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the identification of the officer responsible for the tragic death of a young man, Toheeb Eniafe.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the officer involved serves at the Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 17, Lion Building, Lagos.
While investigations are ongoing, SP Hundeyin assured that further details would be forthcoming as the inquiry progresses.
“The person behind the shooting has been identified as a police officer serving at Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 17, Lion Building, Lagos,” stated SP Hundeyin.
In the wake of the incident, the Lagos State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to working closely with the deceased’s family to ensure that justice prevails.
The tragic event happened at a petrol station owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited in Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos, where Eniafe lost his life while resisting security agents attempting to bypass the fuel queue.
As the investigation continues, authorities are faced with the challenge of unraveling the circumstances surrounding the shooting and providing closure to the grieving family.
