Veteran Nollywood icon, Kanayo O. Kanayo, marked his son’s entry into the filmmaking world by upholding African customs.
He graciously accepted his son’s maiden earnings and extended fatherly blessings.
Earlier, Kanayo introduced his son, Clinton Mbaise, to the Simpliciter Associates Productions team, where he would serve as an assistant production manager and personal assistant.
In a video shared on his Instagram, he urged people to honor their fathers with their first salary, highlighting the significance of parental blessings over monetary offerings to pastors.
“While the amount parents may reclaim from their children varies, the act of receiving blessings from one’s father remains paramount,” Kanayo stated.
He elaborated, “The first salary of a young man belongs to his father for blessings. The father may choose to take a portion or the entirety, imparting financial wisdom in the process.
“Seeking blessings from pastors with your salary is futile; it contradicts our cultural values,” Kanayo concluded.
