Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has affirmed his administration’s commitment to aligning with the Federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the health sector, to enhance access to quality healthcare services in the state.

During a visit by the Special Adviser to the President on Health, Dr. Salma Ibrahim, Otti emphasized the convergence of goals between Abia and the Federal Government, stressing a collective pursuit of a common objective despite political disparities.

“We already keyed in on this renewed hope agenda of the Federal government,” Otti declared, highlighting the alignment of their initiatives with the federal agenda. “Because listening to you, all the areas that the Federal government is interested in, are also the areas we are interested in.”

Governor Otti showcased his administration’s achievements in healthcare, including increased budget allocations, restoration of accreditation for healthcare institutions, and efforts to combat maternal and child mortality rates.

Expressing readiness for collaboration, Otti affirmed, “We are ready to partner with the Federal Government in ensuring quality healthcare delivery for our people.”

Dr. Salma Ibrahim echoed the call for partnership, emphasizing the need for joint efforts to accelerate healthcare transformation outlined in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. She praised Otti’s commitment to healthcare, citing the increased budgetary allocation as a significant step towards progress.
