On Monday, June 3rd, Deputy Commissioner of Police Abubakar Mohammed Guri, serving as the DC in the office of COMPOL MOPOL at Force Headquarters, Abuja, reportedly slumped and passed away.
Sources indicate that DCP Guri, who was in his uniform, suddenly slumped in his office chair.
He was swiftly taken to the clinic within the Police Headquarters for medical assistance, where he was pronounced dead.
No official reason has been given for the officer’s death.
He was described as appearing hale and hearty, having exchanged pleasantries with officers and staff of the Mopol department earlier that day.
A source speaking confidentially suggested that the senior officer’s sudden collapse and death might be related to heart failure, highlighting that many police officers, fatigued from working round the clock without rest, have faced similar fates recently.
No statements have been issued by the Force Public Relations Officer regarding the late officer.
