Nigerian footballer Kayode Olanrewaju has responded strongly to recent rumours questioning the paternity of his three children with his estranged wife, Dora Ezinne.
Media reports had suggested that Kayode is not the biological father of the children, prompting his legal team, Alexime Law Associates, to take decisive action.
In a statement released on Monday in Lagos, Kayode’s legal team stressed the emotional distress and reputational harm caused by these allegations.
They accused Dora of orchestrating a campaign to tarnish Kayode’s character and divert attention from her alleged misconduct.
On May 26, 2024, Kayode’s attorneys response comprehensively, demanding that media platforms reveal their sources.
They argued that the baseless allegations were part of a concerted effort to disrupt his family life.
The legal team specifically addressed a tweet by Dr. Ruth Emosiluamhe Agbukor, which claimed that DNA tests proved none of Kayode’s children with Dora were biologically his.
The tweet, which went viral, was shared widely across social media platforms.
Kayode’s legal team demanded that Dr. Agbukor disclose her information source, delete the false story, and issue a public retraction.
They warned of potential legal action for libel and charges under the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act if she failed to comply.
The controversy is part of ongoing conflicts between Kayode and Dora, which include allegations of forgery, theft of two Mercedes SUVs worth over N700 million, immovable properties worth billions of Naira, infidelity involving UK-based Nigerian Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, and financial misconduct.
According to Kayode’s legal team, Dora has been hiding with their children in an undisclosed location in Abuja since March 24, 2024, and attempted to flee the country using illegally obtained new passports. This plan was reportedly foiled by the Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) in April.
Dora is also accused of conspiring to misappropriate Kayode’s assets as part of a broader scheme to undermine him financially.
Kayode’s attorneys stated that their client will not issue a public disclaimer about the DNA report, as this would imply his involvement in spreading the rumour. Instead, they are focused on uncovering the true sources of the allegation to support Kayode’s case and restore his reputation. They are working with intelligence operatives to achieve this.
“We are committed to uncovering the source of this story as part of our broader strategy to shift focus away from the substantive issues of fraud and misconduct by Dora,” the legal team concluded.
This development marks a significant chapter in the ongoing legal and personal battle between Kayode and Dora, with both parties embroiled in serious allegations and legal disputes
