War between two countries and two nationalities involving Chelsea’s midfielder, Enzo Fernandez, the Argentina squad, and the French national team.
Following their Copa America victory, Fernandez started a live video on Instagram while chanting a victory song with the rest of his teammates.
Part of the lyrics of the song has racist meaning and it was directed towards the French players.
Part of the song’s lyrics:
“They play for France but they are from Angola
“His mother is Nigerian,
“His father Cameroonian,
“But on the passport: French.”
This was directed towards Kylian Mbappe and the French national team, mocking their ties with Africa.
The video went viral and has caused a lot of controversy on social media. The France Football Federation has released a statement threatening to sue Argentina for racist remarks.
