Jamiu Abiola, son of late Nigerian businessman and politician, MKO Abiola, has identified the ulterior motive behind the ongoing nationwide protests, alleging that the forces that cancelled his father’s election and denied him the opportunity of becoming Nigeria’s president wants to topple President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Abiola was adjudged to be the winner of the infamous June 12 presidential election in 1993 that was abruptly annulled by the defiant Ibrahim Babangida-led military junta, which sparked local and international condemnation.
Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s coverage of the protest on Friday, Abiola junior, who was a member of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Media Committee, accused some cabals masterminding the protest in a bid to unseat Tinubu
MUK TV reports that since Thursday, August 1, angry Nigerian youths have taken to the streets, demanding better governance and an end to pressing issues such as food inflation, general inflation, and high living costs being witnessed under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
