President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that his administration is diligently working to improve their lives.

He emphasized that the reforms being implemented will soon yield visible and concrete results for all to see, feel, and enjoy.

In a national broadcast on Sunday morning, Tinubu addressed the ongoing protests against bad governance that have spread across the country.

He urged protesters and organizers to suspend further demonstrations and open the door for dialogue.

“I speak to you today with a heavy heart and a sense of responsibility, aware of the turmoil and violent protests unleashed in some of our states,” Tinubu said.

He acknowledged the frustrations of young Nigerians striving for a better and more progressive country where their dreams and aspirations can be realized.

Expressing his sorrow over the loss of lives and destruction of properties in states like Borno, Jigawa, Kano, and Kaduna, Tinubu stated, “I am especially pained by the loss of lives… the destruction of public facilities in some states, and the wanton looting of supermarkets and shops, contrary to the promise of protest organizers that the protest would be peaceful across the country. The destruction of properties sets us back as a nation, as scarce resources will be again used to restore them.”

He extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the protests and called for an end to further bloodshed, violence, and destruction.

“We must stop further bloodshed, violence and destruction,” he asserted.

Tinubu also highlighted his constitutional duty to maintain public order and protect citizens’ lives and property.

He warned against misinformation, stating, “Let nobody misinform and miseducate you about your country or tell you that your government does not care about you. Although there have been many dashed hopes in the past, we are in a new era of Renewed Hope. We are working hard for you, and the results will soon be visible and concrete for everyone to see, feel, and enjoy.”

He concluded by urging unity and cooperation, saying, “Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation.”
