Former governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia State, Mascot Uzor Kalu (KSJI), has congratulated Dr. Samuel Anya, widely known as Akaepuchionwa, on his recent appointment as a Commissioner in Rivers State.
Dr. Anya, an Abia-born politician from Ohafia, was sworn in as the Commissioner for Special Duties by Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Wednesday, after being screened by the Rivers State Assembly a day earlier alongside four others.
In a press statement released by his media office in Abuja on Wednesday evening, Kalu extended heartfelt felicitations to Anya, describing his appointment as well-deserved.
The former Abia Chief of Staff expressed confidence that Anya’s appointment would be a valuable addition to Governor Fubara’s cabinet and the Rivers State Executive Council.
“I received the news of Dr. Samuel Anya’s well-deserved appointment as Commissioner with excitements. His dedication and service have always been exemplary, and I have no doubt that he will bring even greater value to the people of Rivers State in this new role.”

Prior to this appointment, Anya served as the Coordinator of Non-Indigenes and Senior Special Adviser on Non-Indigene Matters to the Government of Rivers State.
A notable philanthropist in his hometown of Ohafia, he is also the founder of the Akaepuchionwa Movement, a grassroots political organization where he actively demonstrates his philanthropic efforts.
