The people of Ohafia Local Government Area in Abia State were filled with excitement as Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, officially flagged off the construction of the long-neglected Ndi Orieke Ohafia road on Friday, August 30th.
This road, which links the Ndi Orieke, Abia, and Akanu communities, is expected to boost economic activities in the area upon completion.
Senator Kalu shared the news on his official Facebook page, emphasizing the personal significance of the project.
He wrote, “Another jinx broken as we officially flagged off the construction of Ndi Orieke Ohafia rural road. This road is of significant importance to me—just like the Abia, and Isiugwu roads. Even more propelling is listening to the community leaders narrate how politicians campaigned with the road without executing it. I’m committed to doing more for my people.”
Barr. Mbila Uma Ayi, the Legislative Aide to Senator Kalu, addressed the enthusiastic crowd, highlighting the impact the road would have on the community, particularly in facilitating the transportation of farm produce to markets.
“Senator Orji Uzor Kalu being a jinx breaker is here to fix this road just like he did in Abia, Isiugwu, and Okon. He is a promise keeper and God’s own working tool. Keep hope alive—as we expect more from him,” Ayi said, reiterating the senator’s dedication to fulfilling his promises.
