The Federal Government on Friday declared Monday, September 16, 2024, a public holiday in celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, conveyed his congratulations to the Muslim community in Nigeria and abroad.
Announcing the public holiday, the Minister in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Magdalene Ajani encouraged citizens to use the occasion to pray for national peace and prosperity.
The government also emphasized the importance of embracing values like patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this festive season.
