The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the redeployment of Commissioner of Police Tunji Disu from the Rivers State Command to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command.

In a strategic reshuffle, the IGP also reassigned Delta State Police Commissioner, Abaniwonda Olufemi, to the Rivers State Command, while Peter Opara, the outgoing FCT Commissioner of Police, was transferred to the Delta State Command.

Force spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Thursday, explained that the changes are intended to “strategically position the police force for effective policing.”

The IGP also made additional deployments, following approval from the Police Service Commission, appointing new Commissioners of Police for four states.

“The deployment includes CP Danladi Nda to the Abia State Command; CP Olanrewaju Ishola Olawale to the Lagos State Command; CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya, fdc, to the Ebonyi State Command; and CP Festus Eribo to the Akwa-Ibom State Command,” the statement read.
