Former Super Eagles star, John Mikel Obi, has thrown down the gauntlet to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, accusing him of not delivering in high-stakes matches.

During an appearance on beIN Sports on Wednesday, Mikel expressed his doubts about Haaland’s performance when City needs him most, especially in critical games.

When asked if Haaland dominates during big matches, Mikel bluntly replied: “Right now, he hasn’t. We can agree on that.”

While acknowledging Haaland’s prolific scoring record, Mikel urged the Norwegian to step up in key fixtures, particularly the upcoming clash against Arsenal.

“He’s scored goals, so many goals, but in the big games, I want to see him do that on Sunday again when they play Arsenal. I want to see him show up in big games and be the man. Score one or two, hat-trick, whatever it is,” Mikel said.

All eyes will be on Haaland to see if he can rise to the occasion.
