Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, has been declared the winner of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Sunday that Okpebholo secured 291,667 votes across all 18 local government areas.
His main challenger, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), followed closely with 247,655 votes.
Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata finished in third place with 22,763 votes.
