Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North and former governor of Edo State, has attributed the victory of Monday Okpebholo in the recently concluded Edo governorship election to the will of God.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, the winner of the election with 291,667 votes, defeating Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,274 votes.
Reacting to the outcome, Oshiomhole, in a statement to journalists in Benin City on Sunday night, proclaimed, “Anything that God cannot do does not exist,” emphasizing that “those with wisdom know that power only resides with God.”
“When some people said the election was do or die, we said no. It is about choice. Today, God, by His infinite powers, has decreed that Senator Monday [Okpebholo] make up for 8 years of disaster caused by Obaseki and Asue together,” he further added.
