President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Nigeria and creating wealth for future generations, making it clear that his focus is not on the 2027 elections, but on the nation’s long-term prosperity.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West Zone Assembly, held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, Tinubu reiterated his dedication to repositioning the country.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the President acknowledged the current economic hardships but reassured the audience that brighter days lie ahead for Nigeria.
“For every moment in a country, a particular leader is produced for that time. This is the time to produce a leader that is courageous,” he stated, adding that he has a deep love for Nigerians and will continue to listen to their needs and work for their benefit.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who hosted the event and also serves as Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, stressed the need for unity within the APC and collaboration to propel the South-West region and the country forward.
“We have come as one big family to explore more ways to work together… to share ideas and agree on strategies to take the South-West to greater heights,” Sanwo-Olu remarked.
Kayode Fayemi, the keynote speaker and former Governor of Ekiti State, encouraged the APC in the South-West to maintain its unity, saying, “I am convinced that APC will remain strong to accomplish the business of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.”
The event drew a range of South-West political heavyweights, including governors from Ekiti, Ondo, and Ogun, as well as former governors Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Olusegun Osoba, and Ibikunle Amosun.
Numerous APC senators, representatives, and other high-ranking officials were also in attendance.
