Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, was arrested on Monday by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) while attempting to leave the country at the Seme border in Lagos.

Following his arrest, Bobrisky was taken to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) annexe in Alagbon, where he spent the night.

The NIS described Bobrisky as a “person of interest,” and further investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of his attempted departure from the country. Sources suggest that the FCID is seeking a remand order to extend his detention for further questioning.

A statement from the FCID regarding his detention is expected soon. A source at the FCID confirmed, “Yes, he was brought here Monday night by the NIS, where he spent the night. We are going to get a remand order today.”

The NIS spokesperson, Kenneth Udo, commented on the arrest, stating, “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, the NIS intercepted Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border over an attempt to exit the country.”
