In a thrilling new chapter for Nigerian football, renowned music producers Don Jazzy and D’banj have officially unveiled their football clubs, Supremos FC and Koko FC, respectively. The announcement was made by Lagos Liga, Nigeria’s foremost private football league, via an Instagram post that excited fans across the country.

Both clubs are set to join the league when it kicks off in December, adding to an already competitive lineup of ten teams. Lagos Liga aims to create a dynamic platform where both aspiring talents and experienced players can showcase their abilities in competitive matches.

The league has acknowledged the potential influence of Don Jazzy’s participation, stating, “If Jazzy’s midas touch, as demonstrated in various sectors, translates to football, other teams should be on alert.” D’banj’s entrance into the football realm is also being closely watched, indicating a promising venture.

Adding to the excitement, the league organizers have announced a generous N50 million prize for the champions, significantly heightening the stakes for all participants.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Burna Boy’s recent launch of a football academy designed for boys aged 4 to 21, with training centers scheduled to open in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. As the football landscape in Nigeria continues to flourish, the involvement of these prominent music figures is poised to draw even greater attention to the sport.
