Caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen will today lead out the backroom staff of the Super Eagles to Abidjan ahead of a crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier against Benin.
Eguavoen is back in the country after a short medical leave to Belgium.
The foreign call-ups for the match will fly directly to the Ivorian capital city.
The Super Eagles will need at least a draw in Abidjan Thursday against home team Benin to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
Incidentally, when both teams clashed in a 2026 World Cup qualifier also in Abidjan in June, the Cheetahs of Benin led by former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr recorded a famous 2-1 win that has put Nigeria’s World Cup qualification in jeopardy.
