Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned opposition political parties as the 2027 presidential election looms.
Ayodele made it known that a united opposition front is the only viable path to unseating President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Ayodele urged major opposition parties—such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)—to form a coalition, or risk their efforts being futile.
He said, “If PDP, Labour, NNPP don’t unite to form a coalition and propose one rugged and solid candidate for the 2027 presidential election, they won’t be able to unseat President Tinubu.”
Ayodele also criticized the internal dynamics of the PDP, cautioning that fielding former Vice President Atiku Abubakar once again would lead to a “disaster.”
“If PDP decides to field Atiku, it will be a disaster, they will lose the election,” he added.
He further pointed out that no sitting PDP governor possesses the strength to challenge President Tinubu in 2027, saying,“There is no sitting governor in the PDP who has the capacity to become president in 2027. They are not strong enough.”
