A tragic stampede at Christ the King Catholic Church (CKC) in Aba on Sunday, November 25, claimed the lives of two women and left several others injured during the annual Christ the King procession.
Eyewitness reports reveal that the incident happened when security personnel blocked the entrance to the church premises, causing panic among the large crowd gathered for the event.
Amid the chaos, the two women tragically fell to their deaths.
The victims were rushed to Mendel Hospital in Aba for urgent medical attention but were declared dead on arrival.
